I recently took up the practice of Qi Gong after not doing it for some time. I really enjoy this Qi Gong practice with Qi Gong Master Lee Holden as it creates more energy in my body during the day and releases stress and tension in the evening which helps me prepare to sleep. Qi Gong (phonetically pronounced Chee Gong) literally means Life Energy Cultivation. It is a practice of aligning breath, movement and awareness for exercise, healing and mediation. In traditional Chinese medicine the meridian system is an energetic pathway through which the Qi flows and by practicing Qi Gong you can balance Qi throughout your body.
The gentle, rhythmic movements of Qi Gong reduce stress, build stamina, increase vitality and enhance the immune system. It has been found to improve cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic and digestive functions.
Lee created a 10 minute morning and evening practice, as well as, a 20 minute practice. When I started my practice after a long absence I decided the best route was to do the 10 minute videos for two weeks and then switch to the 20 minute videos. It worked well for me but you can decide how and what to do based on your needs and how fit you feel you are.
